Welcome. Thank you for taking the time to read about my clinical background and therapy style to assess if you feel we may be a good fit. People seek out therapy for a variety of reasons but the common bottom line is that there are barriers to functioning as well and as happily as possible. I can help.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where I also studied Philosophy and my Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Rutgers University. I have worked with children, teenagers and families for most of my career. I have experience from multiple settings including residential treatment centers, public and private schools, and nonprofits to name a few. I currently run a treatment home program (therapeutic foster homes) full-time, and provide therapy through private practice in addition to conducting in-home therapy for the state on the side. I’ve worked with a diverse population of families with varying compositions, and with children and teens with distinctly different challenges and experiences from the next. I have worked with transgender youth and their families as they traverse the journey toward understanding and supporting their child.

From our first session I prioritize the building of a strong therapeutic relationship. Our relationship is the foundation of the work you’ll do so it’s very important there is trust between us. I will bring nonjudgmental kindness and compassion to your sessions. Your emotional needs are important and deserve attention and time. Whether you are seeking help for yourself, your relationship, your child or family, I understand it is not easy sharing intimate thoughts with a professional. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, current relationships or past trauma, I can help. You can expect that I will offer opinions and suggestions from time to time, but that I will not tell you what to do. You can expect to be respected.

I primarily practice CBT, or Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. I integrate other approaches depending on need, such as DBT, mindfulness practices, relationship-building exercises, art therapy, and play therapy for kids on the younger side.

To ensure I provide the most effective services to my clients I frequent trainings and am always learning. I also hold my Clinical Supervisory Certificate to train and supervise other therapists and clinicians working toward full licensure so that they can best help their clients.

My priority in session is to make sure you get what you need out of the experience. Whether you're interested in resolving an immediate issue or seek help with something deeper, you are worthy of growth. I look forward to meeting you.
